We often read pieces of literature, articles, and other written bodies of work and wonder about the authors; Who is this person? What is their life story? Where do they derive their inspiration? Maybe that’s just me, or maybe you relate. No matter the case, I am here to answer all those questions about myself.
Nice to meet you! My name is Kaitlyn, but most call me Kate. I’m currently a senior in high school, and I plan to study film in college in hopes of becoming a critic and analyst. I’ve always had a passion for the subject of English and writing in general, mostly because I find the discovery of symbolism and a complete breakdown of literature to be incredibly stimulating. Funny thing is, I never enjoyed reading. That’s when I fell in love with movies and film analysis.
Throughout my time in high school, I’ve built up quite a watch list of both critically acclaimed movies and cult classics to watch and review, and I figured there would be no better motivation to get through my list than to start a blog where I update all of you on this little journey.
Although I have a decently varied taste in movies, I felt compelled to focus on dramas for the purposes of this blog. Not only does it provide a big range of films and TV series to cover, but this genre most often leads me down those rabbit holes of thought that inspired me to start this in the first place.
